Located along Chicago’s iconic Michigan Avenue, this project was designed for a couple relocating from Washington D.C. Formerly residing in a colonial style home characterized by individual, adjoining rooms, small traditional windows, and classical moldings, their new home provides an intentional departure from this style – spaces seamlessly flow together while a neutral palette provides an ideal setting for capturing panoramic views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. The project balances modern design with a comfortable living environment to create a one-of-a-kind home seventy-six stories above Chicago.
Nestled on a picturesque, tree-lined street just two blocks from the entrance to Prospect Park, this 1870s brownstone has been thoughtfully reimagined to honor its historic charm. Previously divided into four rental units, the home has been restored to a single-family residence, blending vintage details with contemporary updates. Elegant spaces for gathering are complemented by practical spaces of privacy, creating a harmonious home perfect for life in Park Slope.
Set on a hillside lot in Atlanta, Bristow Mather designed this home for a family of four navigating the overlapping demands of childhood, work, and entertaining friends and family. Southwest views from the rear of the hilltop property capture the full arc of the afternoon sun and provide a natural anchor for the home's gathering spaces. Finished with natural materials meant to reveal their age, the project welcomes the demands of daily life, imbuing character with each year that passes.
